The Cornish Honeymoon Murder – Jodie Parker Is Back Solving Her 10th Cozy Mystery!

Is there anything more satisfying than discovering a brand-new cozy mystery series that just keeps going?

I know the publishing industry can be a fickle mistress, and often we fall in love with characters only for the author to change course and begin an entirely new series, or worse, leave us hanging with unresolved storylines and a cast of characters we’re not quite ready to say goodbye to.

Thankfully, that has not happened with the Nosey Parker series by Fiona Leith, who has just produced her 10th installment, The Cornish Honeymoon Murder.

As somebody who has read every book in the series to date, I can confidently give this a massive thumbs up.

If you haven’t stepped into Jodie’s world yet, let me give you a very quick catch-up.

Jodie Parker is an ex-police officer who has returned home to Cornwall with her young daughter, where she sets up a catering business. She quickly gets drawn into an investigation when her best friend is accused of murder.

Said investigation is being led by DCI Nathan Withers, and quite quickly it becomes apparent that they like each other as much as they annoy each other.

Over the course of the books, their relationship evolves, the murders pile up, and more importantly, we all come back each year to find out what fresh trouble Jody finds herself in!

We’re Off To A Luxurious Eco-Resort

Spoiler alert if you haven’t read the previous books (but it’s central to the story!), Jodie and Nathan have settled into married life when a blast from the past reaches out to Jodie for a favor.

Having already helped Isaac Barnes solve a murder at his hotel (book 4 – A Cornish Christmas Murder), it looks like somebody is trying to sabotage his five-star luxurious eco-resort, off the coast of Cornwall – before it even opens.

Fake social media videos have gone viral, the property has been damaged, etc., and, as this resort has cost millions, he is understandably very worried that the project is doomed before they even open the doors.

Happy to help uncover who is behind this, Jodie and Nathan pose as honeymooners, albeit with her mum Shirley, daughter Daisy, and dog Germaine, in tow.

Staying there for the soft launch of the eco-resort, they mingle with the other guests, do a bit of sleuthing, and believe they know who the culprit is.

But when a violent storm cuts the island off from the mainland, disaster follows, and a guest is discovered dead in the ruins of the boathouse, with all signs pointing to murder.

With no way in or out and a killer in their midst, Jodie and Nathan must uncover the truth before the body count rises.

Always A Fun Ride With Jodie

Cards on the table, I am not objective when it comes to the Jodie Parker books. I love them. Pure and simple.

Like most of you, I find great comfort heading back into a world where it feels like I could genuinely be friends with the main character.

The relationships in this series have that lovely lived‑in quality with all the banter and all the shorthand, so when the murder kicks off, it feels like a proper interruption to real life, not just another puzzle wheeled on stage for our entertainment.

I also loved how holiday‑ish this book feels without tipping into pure fluff. There’s a proper sense of escapism that makes you want to immediately Google coastal cottages and pretend you’ll actually book one.

At the same time, the mystery stays tight. There’s enough tension to keep you turning the pages, but never so much that it stops being cozy and fun.

Jodie’s inner commentary is as sharp as ever, but there’s also a warmth to it here, and you really feel how far she’s come over the series, both as a mum and as a sort‑of‑reluctant village sleuth.

By the time I hit the final few chapters of The Cornish Honeymoon Murder, I had that really comforting feeling of being in safe hands. I trusted the solution would be satisfying, and I was just enjoying hanging out with these characters while we got there.

It’s exactly what I want from a tenth installment. Familiar, funny, and just fresh enough to make me excited for whatever trouble Jodie stumbles into next.
